A time for renewal at USyd - EBA Vote
Learn about the upcoming EBA vote here.
From the reliance on casual staff for on-going work, to wage theft, the erosion of job security, mounting workloads and the attack on 40:40:20 to unacceptably low numbers of First Nations staff- there are many challenges facing us University staff. At heart, many of these problems stem from a top-down University management that often does not understand what is happening on the ground. But our members certainly do.
To renew the University, we need to harness this understanding, and translate it into strategy and policy. We need to go beyond protests to proactively shape the way the University is run.
We need to grow our membership and develop a more organised, active and strategic workforce. To connect with people across the University and gain their trust, we need to develop effective delegate structures.
In short, we need a Union that is inclusive, progressive and constructive.
Change is possible. Every member of the University already enjoys benefits won by unions: from annual leave, sick leave, maternity leave, and even the weekend. With your help, we can achieve the vision of a University that is more than just a workplace. A University where knowledge and learning are respected. A University that serves the community. A University where we can do our best work, and thrive.
Inclusive
Progressive
Constructive
“I fully support the Thrive team. They are an experienced and dedicated group of committed unionists who will work hard to achieve positive outcomes for our staff and our University.”
